Don't Celebrate that Promotion!

... unless you're doing it for the right reason.



Whether in the context of a job or belting in the martial arts, getting promoted is as much an acknowledgement of your accomplishments as it is a challenge to handle bigger responsibilities and higher performance expectations. Instead of celebrating a promotion as a "success", celebrate it more like the Christening of a sailing vessel--a toast to a fruitful new journey.
